Accounting
Eagle stands for creative innovation and environmental protection on the course, but when it comes to accounting our CPAs and CPA candidates go by the book.
Eagle properties are assigned a senior accountant who takes the lead working directly with the course’s general manager. This on-site relationship provides timely and spot-on financial information for better operations across the board.
From the corporate side, our veteran golf industry controller and CPA offer expert advice to each Eagle golf course. Our approach means critical processes are followed both internally and externally, resulting in smarter, more strategic long-term planning.
Our accountants and CPAs treat your money like it’s their own
Eagle Golf’s accounting team and course managers spend each dollar like it’s their own. That’s one of the reasons our clients trust us with their capital. Eagle Golf relies on Microsoft Dynamics (formerly Great Plains) software system because it’s accurate, effective and flexible. On-the-fly report generation and updating is essential to control cost and act quickly on management issues. With Eagle Golf, not only are you assured state-of-the-art and time-tested accounting procedures, but also reports formatted to your specific requirements.
Our point-of-sale system, IBS, is the most widely used system in the industry, giving us the necessary data to control every aspect of financial reporting. Eagle Golf supplies your course with a policies and procedures manual outlining cash controls like:
- A receipt is given to every guest and presented to the starter before the first tee
- All voids or changes to the tee sheet/POS must be Manager or Assistant Manager approved
- The cash banks must be counted every night along with the contents of the safe
- A log records every person who uses the safe along with money going in and out
- All complimentary rounds must be Manager approved in advance
- No funds will be taken from the point of sale system at any time
- Imprest checking accounts are used for all incidental expenses with a maximum balance of $2,000
- Daily and weekly expense tracking ensure budget goals are met
- Two management employees complete monthly merchandise and food and beverage inventory on the last day of each period
Revealing and solving cash management-related issues
Eagle Golf’s accounting team has found cash management issues at nearly every golf course we have purchased, assumed management of or leased. Always, our initial goal is to assess every operation and put in place the proper controls that protect cash resources. The Eagle management team visits on a quarterly basis to make sure all procedures are met or exceeded.
