Indian Creek Golf Club
In April 2005, the City of Carrollton hired Eagle Golf to manage Indian Creek Golf Club. Indian Creek is a premier 36-hole daily fee course smack in the middle of the DFW Metroplex. Though the initial contract was for a five-year term, Carrollton extended their partnership with Eagle Golf for another two years. 2005 marked a Green Renovation on Indian Creek’s Lakes course. The Eagle team undertook converting the course’s cool weather grass to a more climate suitable warm weather grass. Not only did the new Champion Bermuda turf receive cheers from the players for improved “playability,” but it also eliminated the need for chemical products that cool weather grass requires. Soon after the grass replacement, the Creek Course bunkers were renovated to address contamination and drainage issues. Good for the golfers, good for the environment.
The greens weren’t the only thing Eagle improved. Indian Creek Golf Club needed an event sales coordinator who would attract tournaments and also position the club as an event destination. It’s something that hadn’t been a focus at Indian Creek before. Event sales now total over $500,000 in annual revenue. A Player Development Program was implemented for golfers who want to improve or learn the game. The program is a staple across all Eagle properties. Indian Creek’s program has had up to 350 members and annual revenues of $220,000.
Indian Creek was named Eagle’s 2006 “Golf Club of the Year.” In 2010, Avid Golfer recognized the club as one of DFW’s “Top 5 Mid-Priced Golf Courses” and Addison Magazine named it “Favorite Public Golf Course.” The fact that Indian Creek is always recognized as one of the top or most popular places to host a corporate or charity golf tournament in DFW is just icing on the cake. Management scorecard info: From 2005 to 2010, rounds have grown from 63,000 up to over 90,000 annually. Revenues are up from 2.5 million to over 4 million.
